Kodokan Aikikai Test Requirements

Rank Testing occurs once a year, generally in the fall, and those students who have accumulated sufficient hours and proficiency, at the discretion of the Sensei, will be notified that they will be testing at least a month in advance of the test. A recording of the Test is made and sent for review to Tadamitsu Tanaka Shihan. This recording is as much a reflection of the whole dojo's efforts as the specific individuals testing. All members are encouraged to attend practice diligently during the period leading up to the test, and to attend the Test itself.
